ABOUT ME

Ilona Ptak

A graduate of 1st and 2nd degree Journalism at the University of Economics in Katowice and the University of Silesia. From 2021, an academic teacher at the University of Economics in Katowice in the field of Journalism and Social Communication. Currently in the process of writing a doctoral thesis. Since 2021, the owner of the company LOTNE MEDIA, which produces advertising and television materials.

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in the editorial office of the magazines “Nowy Gwóźdź Programu” NZS and “Suplement”.
  • 4 years of experience in promotion and marketing, as a Public Relations specialist in one of the leading technology parks in Poland, organizing cultural and educational events and conferences, as well as working on projects co-financed by the European Union.
  • 6 years of experience as a journalist and reporter at Telewizja Katowice (initially in the news department, later in social programs, including “Whoever saw, who knows …”, “Magazyn Ekspresu Reporterów”, “Telekurier”, “Depth of focus”. Goal of her reportage materials are interventions in defense of the weak, opening eyes to socially important and intercultural issues. She is not involved in politics!

2021

  • 1st prize in the competition of the Association of Polish Journalists 2020 named after Adolf Bocheński for outstanding journalistic achievements for journalists up to 30 years of age for the report “Znajomy głos”.
  • distinction at the XXVII Festival of Documentary Forms “Nurt” in Kielce for the reportage “Oczami Ochiro”.
  • nomination of the reportages “Oczami Ochiro”, “Mała jesttka femininity”, “Silesian Tea o’clock” for the 19th Festival of Optimistic Films “Happy End” in Rzeszów.
  • nomination of the reportage “Babcia na medal” for the II. Festival of Sports Reportage “Patyk” in Opole.
  • nomination of the reportage “Metamorfoza życia” for the 31st Media Festival “Man in Danger” in Łódź.
  • nomination of the reportage “Ostatni Finisz – Zygmunt Hanusik” (co-author: Mateusz Szpaczyński) for the 1st Festival of Polish Sports Films in Zakopane.

2020

  • 1st prize of the TVP3 Katowice Programming Council for the report “Dokąd poprowadzą nogi” (co-author: Dominika Kardynał).
  • nomination of the reportage “Znajomy głos” for the 18th Festival of Optimistic Films “Happy End” in Rzeszów.
  • nomination of the reportage “Znajomy głos” for the 9th Festival of Captivating Films “Frapy” in Gorzów Wielkopolski.

2019

  • 1st prize to them Brygida Frosztęgi-Kmiecik for the Best Intervention Reportage during the 26th Journalism Review and Competition of Local Branches of Telewizja Polska in Warsaw for the report “Przekręt na remont”.
  • 1st prize of the TVP3 Katowice Programming Council for the report “Jednooka Wojowniczka”.
  • 2nd prize at the 1st Festival of Sports Reportage “Patyk” in Opole for the reportage “Tam, gdzie ściany zrzucają skórę”.
  • special distinction in the 14th Silesia Press competition in Katowice for “professional, courageous, inquisitive and fully committed undertaking journalistic interventions important for the inhabitants of the region”.
  • nomination of the report “Tam, gdzie ściany zrzucają skórę” for the 29th Media Festival “Człowiek w zagrożeniu” in Łódź.
  • nomination of the reportage “Jednooka wojowniczka” for the 17th Festival of Optimistic Films “Happy End” in Rzeszów.
  • nomination of the reportage “Jednooka wojowniczka” for the 7th edition of the “Art of Fact” Festival in Toruń.

2018

  • 1st award of the TVP3 Programming Council for the report “Bohaterowie pod ziemią”.
  • distinction in the competition of Young Journalists named after Bartek Zdunek in Krakow in the category “Debiut Publicystyczny Roku” for the reportage “On musi wrócić.
  • nomination of the reportage “Funded fraud” for the 28th Media Festival “Człowiek w Zagrożeniu” in Łódź.

Since 2021, the owner of Lotne Media, cooperating with a team of professionals in the field of film, television and advertising production.
